About Periodontal Treatments
Gum (periodontal) disease is an irritation of the gum tissue that can cause serious problems, including tooth loss of infection if it isn't detected and promptly treated. The three progressions of periodontal disease are gingivitis (stage one), periodontitis (stage two), and advanced periodontitis (stage three). During every patient's annual dental exams at Saddle Brook Dental Care in White Settlement, TX, our dentists will look for periodontal disease, but typical indications include swollen, red gums; bleeding while brushing or flossing the teeth; receding gums; and chronic halitosis. Based on the level of periodontal disease when it is detected, our dentists at Saddle Brook Dental Care can perform surgical or nonsurgical treatment procedures: antibiotics, scaling and root planing, tooth extraction, gum surgery, and gum tissue grafting.
"Stellar customer service! Very straightforward and ever so helpful. I called this AM at 8 after finding them online. My brother needed immediate assistance because he was in throbbing pain and had to call into work over it. They gave us an appt 40 minutes from when I called. Was seen and the problems with my brothers teeth were explained in great detail with language he could understand. Laura was so helpful I wanted to hug her. She was able to arrange for my brother to be seen by another dentist nearby within the hour to have the extraction taken care of. She also did a fantastic job explaining the costs and what options were available to us due to our financial restraints. Laura saved the day for us! I truly appreciate everyone at Saddle Brook Dental for their assistance today. We will definitely be using them for all future dental work. And again, Laura was amazing!Thank you Laura and the team! "I show up on time and get seen quickly. Staff is friendly and professional. Dr. PATEL is sweet & great at what she does. Today I saw Ortho Doctor Griffin I believe was his name and he was Amazing! I got my braces at 27 😁 Both Doctor's explained treatment options and their plans really well. They offer great financial help as well. I had to take my 5 year old son to all visits and they were very kind to him which was a huge plus ❤ I am definitely glad that I chose them as my Primary and for my Ortho even more. Cant wait to see the final look in two years!"- M.H. / Google / Jun 02, 2019

What to Expect
Gum disease can vary between mild to severe and our dentists will decide on a gum disease treatment to fit the patient's level. One of the easiest and most common periodontal treatments offered is scaling and root planing (SRP), a noninvasive deep cleaning of the plaque build up under the gum pockets. Our dentists may add on a course of antibiotics with the SRP treatment to decrease inflammation if the condition is farther along. For the final level of gum disease, our dentists will need to perform an invasive service: pocket reduction, laser gum surgery, or regenerative gum surgery.
Due to the chronic nature of gum disease, patients typically require maintenance care which includes at home therapy and more frequent visits to the dentist. The most cutting edge at home therapy is a tray delivery system known as PerioProtect. This tray is custom fitted to you and made to deliver medication. This helps keep the infection at bay in the comfort of your own home. Click here for more information on PerioProtect.
As soon as the gums are restored from the patient's gum disease service, it's critical that the patient start a good dental care regime at home to stop another case of gum disease. Patients should ask our dentists about an at home regime, including correct flossing, brushing, and other treatments our dentists suggest. Patients should also remember to schedule appointments at Saddle Brook Dental Care at least two times every year for a regular cleaning and at least one time a year for an examination with our dentists.
Generally, dental insurance policies will pay for periodontal services for gum disease, although the amount of coverage may differ based on the individual policy. At some point in the initial consultation, our dentists can go over personal expenses, payment options, and offered financing plans.
